I had left the windows open on my 2007 Hyundai Elantra, then shortly after the Airbag ABS lamp came on after a rainstorm. I was sure something got wet, especially after the light seemed to clear itself.
My luck was short-lived, the airbag ABS error light came on again a few days later and never went out. I went to the Hyundai forums where other owners have these problems but no mentions of water causing the problem. I did hear about the recall and the issue about loose connectors under the drivers’ seat but since nothing was moved or changed, I didn’t think that would be it. I bought an Autel AL619 AutoLink ABS/Air Bag + OBDII Scan Tool to figure it out.
